A Taste Of Coachella

Image
Sadly I do not have the funds or maybe even the energy to get myself out to the great USA and celebrate in style at Coachella so I have found an alternative that suites me perfectly. H&M have released a rather spectacular range of Coachella inspired garments with all the boho patterns, silhouettes and fringing that is associated with the festival.    For under £15 I picked up this rather hippy looking top that I absolutely adore from the colours right through to the lace detailing on the sleeves.  I don't own anything like this top and therefore thought it would be a perfect new addition to my wardrobe and adds something a little different to my style as I'm never really that experimental with prints. I paired up my black Joni's from Topshop and then my chunky white trainers from Newlook as I thought this combination wouldn't distract or clash with the floral pattern/colours of my Coachella piece, which of course was the main attraction. On my lips I wore Mac's …

Culotte Jumpsuit

Image
If you've been following my blog since last Summer then you may recognize my monochrome patterned jumpsuit from Primark, which I've only ever worn a few times but thought it would be nice to rekindle our relationship and get some wear out of it.  As it's super light and airy in material it makes it easier to layer up for the cooler weather and then strip back for when we get some serious sun!  I also love the culotte finish on the leg as it's just adds a little something different to the silhouette and shows that bit of leg, which is always a bonus especially in Summer when you're not too convinced on whacking the pins out just yet. Underneath my jumpsuit is a Jersey top from Topshop that I thought colour'wise would compliment the monochrome, but now looking at the final photo's it would have been night to add maybe a bold colour underneath?  On my feet are my Primark duplicates of the classic Birkenstock's, which will probably be all over the high street i…

Spring Layers

Image
Can never get enough of the old layering technique, which is why I chose a shirt over blouse option for today's outfit of the day. On top is my Topshop super old school button up cream blouse that was a sale item forever ago and has been screwed up at the bottom of my wardrobe for a loooong old time.. oops.  I then threw over my recent ASOS purchase in the form of this dark denim shirt, almost acting like a jacket substitute. I wanted a dark denim shirt for a little while now as I only own my bleached oversized shirt and sometimes it's just not what I want to pair with jeans or over the top of things. Then whilst scrolling through ASOS one night I came across this little thing, which was around £13 in the sale, something I couldn't refuse! I wore my ASOS black wet look leggings and then finally my London Rebel loafers on my feet, which definitely needed breaking in first as the blisters I now have are on another level. I still can't fault these shoes though, they're go…

Suited

For this outfit of the day post I went for a bit of a smarter look as it was my brother's birthday celebrations down at a local pub and I thought I'd better make a bit of an effort. I don't usually wear blazers but I thought this would make a nice change by throwing on my Newlook speckled grey one that I've had since forever.  It's quite a soft material and sits a little slouched so it isn't over formal and sharp/padded on the shoulders.  I then wore another old item in the form of my Topshop window panel print shirt in a khaki colour that I tucked in to show of the detailing on my belt, a little touch I've been loving recently with everything I wear. On bottom are my black washed Jamie's, again Topshop with the cut off bottoms, I lived in these on tour and I'm beginning to live in them all over again now that I'm back home. Finally, I wore my white chunky trainers from Newlook to bring down the whole look to a more casual level, I mean I wanted a b…

Boohoo Shirt Dress

Image
Back in the bedroom again for this outfit of the day post! You have no idea how much junk and clutter I have to clear before getting a decent enough photo for my blog.. whoops!  Anyway, here's my outfit of the day! I recently won a 20% discount for Boohoo from the McDonald's monopoly game that's currently all the rave and that obviously meant that I have to have a mini splash on Boohoo.com. I found a couple of items that I could justify to my bank balance including this over sized shirt dress, which has a faint vertical striped pattern to it as well has being a gorgeous faded grey colour. I don't really own a lot of grey apart from a couple of knitted pieces so I thought that would be a nice change? I'm also absolutely head over heals for shirt dresses at the moment! However, I did find that this one had quite an awkward split where the buttons went as when I walked along I found that I had to hold down the bottom of the shirt to stop myself flashing to the world. But …

Spring Has Sprung!

Image
Is that sun?! For the first time since God knows when I've been able to leave the house with minimal layers and not freeeeeze but butt off.. YAY! It's days like today where I am literally too excited for Summer and I never used to be a Summer girl, I always love good old Winter weather, crisp, cold and fresh. However, I've now converted after having to fork out for heating bills.. Today's outfit of the day post was showing off and parading about in my new cotton, dazzling white flared sleeved top from Topshop that was paired up with my mustard ribbed top from H&M. After all, it would have been far too ambitious to wear short sleeves when we've only just dipped our toes into Spring. On bottom are my black Joni's (Topshop) and my black Chelsea boots from Newlook as of course they give off the illusion of longer legs, something I strive for! I also decided to whack on a bit of lippy in the form of Mac's 'Whirl', definitely back on my lipstick game as I…

Monochrome Pleats

Image
This was actually an outfit for an interview that I fell in love with (the outfit not.. the interview). My Topshop trousers are possibly one of the comfiest items I now own in my wardrobe, they're made from a super soft fabric and have a pleated design to them, which adds a little something different.  They're also vertically striped with a monochrome pattern and are cropped with an elastic high waisted finish. I've basically found those trousers we girls long to find for when we go for a mahoosive meal complete with dessert and need to be reassured our waist bands will stretch without looking 4 months pregnant. Also the pain of having a waist band digging into your gut! Oww. I dug out a washed out grey sweater, also Topshop (but very old school!) and thought that grey complimented the monochrome perfectly. On my feet are once again my Newlook boots, no surprise there! I can't get enough of these shoes! I love Newlook's boots purely for the fact they never need wearin…
